PEOPLE

Are people born with a tendency towards good or evil?

A child has forever been a symbol of innocence, but must be taught to share, be polite, and to "use their words".

A little heavier

War on Iraq

I know, It's too far into politics for my normal trend. But I am curious to hear what people think.

Lets start with the statistics.

American Deaths
Since the war started------------1744
Since the Capture of Saddam---1277

You could say that this fairly rules out any personal vendetta that Bush may of had with Saddam.
(As a cause of the war at least)

Americans Wounded------------13074

Iraqi Boby Count---------------22582 to 25590 (no way to be sure)

62% of americans expected the war to be quickly over.
82% of foreign countries are against the war.
79% of people think that Saddam was guilty of mass genocide
62% of people think that Osama BinLaden is a bigger threat than Saddam.
64% of people thought that Iraqi troops could take over and win the war.
89% of Americans believed that in winning the war, we would lose the peace in the midlle east.

America is supposedly implementing democracy in Iraq.
But according to these numbers, we obviously didn't take into consideration what the people thought.
The poeple's voices that are the base for democracy.
Why would we force a system onto another country, that we don't use ourselves?

Questions:

Has the Iraq war made the world a safer or more dangerous place?

Is Iraq ready for democracy?

How has media coverage of the Iraq war changed your opinion of the war?

Did Iraq under Saddam Hussein provide sanctuary to terrorists?

Would pulling back from war with Iraq cause fatal political damage to President Bush?

Is the US government using scare tactics to convince Americans to support war with Iraq?

In the mind of President George W. Bush, is war with Iraq a question of "if" or "when"?

Should the U.S. government have provided proof of its assertion that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction?

Iraq: Are weapons of mass destruction the pretext while oil is the real prize?

Should the United States adopt a policy of taking preemptive military action against other countries?

Has America won the war?

Harder Question:
Our country is not in danger of losing it's freedom.
Our country is not being threatened.
Our country is not in any danger of being invaded.
Knowing this, could you fight and die for "your country"?

Religion.

About as broad a topic as you can get.

Most people are religious.
But how do the different religions vary?

Is too much empahasis placed on religion an aspect of a persons character?

For  almost forever, people that believe one thing, fight against people who believe another.
More wars have been faught over religion than any other difference in culture.

Do you personally posses enough faith to die for what you believe?

What is faith?

Harder Question:
Most catholics have been raised in a catolic church all of their lives. This goes as well for jews, non-denomination christians, lutherins, ect... . If you are one of these people, chances are you have a strong faith, and have no intentions of converting. But, there are people who believe in their ouwn faith, just as strongly as you believe in yours. How can we know that we are correct?

If this post does not make sense, I am very sorry.
Sign the guestbook with suggestions for posts, I am running low on topics.
